LONDON WOOL SALES

SOUND AND PROMISING.

(Special Correspondent.)

WELLINGTON, Sept 27. At the current London saies prices keep very firm for all classes of wool, but it will be noted thrft there is no further upward movement. Current prices appear to be at the true economic leve-1, and the wool is selling freely. It has been frequently remarked that the prices ruling today are on a parity with those current at the March saies, and this is b-orne but by actual realisation.s. Fnrtherm-ore, halfbreds, which appear to be in very good demand just now, are above March rates. Thus, 56-58's of averagq quality realised in March 19kl and a.re now selling at 23d; 50-56's have risen from 17|d to 18.|d ; and 48-50's from 15) d to- 15|d; fine and medium crossbreds have not quite recover-ed for 46-48's, which were selling at 14fd in March. and are. now only worth 14|d ; and 4446's, which were worth 14)d six months ago', are quoted at 134a. Medium and Jow crossbreds have quite r-ecovered, for 40-44' s at 13)d are at tlie same level as in March, and low crossbreds, 36-40's, at 12)d, are also- at the March parity. The wool mark-et is buoyant and sound and very promising.
