INV12rCARG 1 LL, Sept. 27. Spcaking at the annual meeting of the Farmers Dairy Federation, ihe president, Mr John Fisher, late memher of the Dairy Oontrol Boaid, referring to a statemcnt cabled frpm London Jasi week that a million l)oxes of New Zealand lmtter werd held in eold storage in Britain. eliaractei'ised it as an outrageous lie. The total reservations made for the purposes of marketing did not average 10.6 per cent. The imputation was that the Oontrol Board had something to do with the hold-up. Until the first day of this month the Board had absolutely nothing fo do with the marketing of produce. All it did was to regulate sh'ippino- jn. New Zealand. The ea jlegram emaitatcd from an interested source, and he ventured to say that if the cahlegram subeeeded in the encl it had m view, to weaken the stand of the producer, and the right people bought 100.000 boxes, the prices would jump, the million boxes in cold store would disappear, and a cahlegram would arrive to say that New Zealand butter had been sold out.
