GENEVA, Sept. 25. Explaining how she rescued 1400 Armenian women from Turkish harema in four years, Miss Jeppe, tlie League's commissioner at Aleppo, said that the most useful emissaries wero washerwomen, who told the Armenians they would find a liome Avliere they would be taught to learn a living and would be ena.bled to find tlieir relations. Tlie rescuers encpuntered the chief difficulties in the towns, ivhere the harems offered luxury and idleness.
