AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. A water, side worlcer named Sa-muel Russell, a-ged 56, was injured wliile unl-oading coal 011 the Union Com-p-any's steamer Kauri. He died at the hospital four ho-urs later. An •empty b-ask-et 1/ecame attaphed to a full basket and was hau led up witli it. It then becnme detached and fell. striking Russell on tlie head.
