NEW YORK, Sept, 25. Physiciaus and surgeons are eoncentrating their efforts to prevent the outbreak of imstilence in the Elorida districts devastatcd by tlie hurricane. Typhoid and tetanus serum is being sent by boat, aeroplane, and train. Only a few isolated cases of disease have a.s yet been reported, but the disrupted sar.itation system prevents an onrinous threat. The wholesale evacuation of th© towns is progressing. Tr.oops ordered the survivors at Moorehaven to depart immecliately, as a. precaution against epidemic dangers from the badlv decomposed bodi.es of tlie victims. The following official figures have been issued • Three liundred and sixty-four bodies have already been recovered, 2000 people have been injured, there has been 200,000,000 dollars property loss, and 25,000 people are homeless. Fiften million dollars oi the losses are oovered hv insurance and four million dollars are needed for rehabilitation work.
