WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. About 40 competitors took part in th© first P'almerstoi North to Wellington road race on Saturday for amateur riders. Entries were reeeived from all over the North Isla nd. There was a strong head wind. Tippett (of Taranaki) was the first man in.
