The British Admiralty announces that \ ice- Admiral Sir Alexander Sinclair has been promoted Commander-in-Chief at the Nore. Vioe-Admiral Tyrwh i ft wili sueceed him as Oom-mander-in-Cliief of the China station, assuming the post on January 7th next. Arelideacon Oherrington, Bishopelect of the new See of Waikato., wili leave Eingland next month and is due to arrive in New Zealand about November 15th. Advice to this effeet has been received by Arelideacon Cowie (of Auckland) from Archbishop Averill. The consecration and enthronement ceremony lias been fixed to take plac© at Hamilton on Tuesday, November 30th, St. Andrew's Day.
