FELLMONGERS' SUPPLIES.
DIFFICULTIES OF WOOL SCOURERS.
Mr G. J. Anderson (Mataura) a feudays ago in Parliament, asked the Minister of Industries and Commerce whether ho would inquire into the difficulties which country fellmongcrs and wool-scouiors encounter in obtaining skins and wool to keep their works in full work; and whether he would consider the advisability of returning io tho system in vogue before the commandeering, taking the finished productbf the fellmongors at the ports at 'tho Government price? The Right Hon. Mr Massey (Minister of Industries and Commerce) h.is replied: "Tho allocation of wool and skins to wool-scourers and fcllmongeis for treatment on behalf of the Government has been controlled by local committees especially appointed for the purpose. It is regretted that, owing to a general shortage of scouring-wool and sheepskins throughout^ tho Dominion, it has not been possible to keep all wool-scouring and fellmongoring' works fully employed throughout the scmsoii. The scheme, under which sheepskins are purchased and fellmongerod was instituted and is being continued at the special request of the Imperial Government."
