ANNUAL HORSE PARADE.

A SMALL EXHIBITION

Ohly five steps' wereforthcomingfor the anuiial horse parade held on Saturday morning .under the auspices oi Ihc Marlborough Agricultural and Pastoral Association. The oxnibition was'conducted in'the. Grosvenor paddock, and attracted a considerable number of spectators. The collection was made, up of four draughts and one trotting .stallion, and was one of tho smallest yet produced for the annual parade. Tho limited entry reflects, as have the recent A. and P. Shows, the* ■decline that has been taking place in tho Cultivation of the light breeds. The animals were presented in fine condition and in good style. Mr T. Neal's draught Silver Gyle, hiss year's Show champion, was looking particularly woll, and. maintained the reputation that he lias earned as a stamp of horse w.'.th satisfying characteristics in all salient reopects. Nethan Vale, tha .Clydesdale imported by Mr George Dawes, of Spring j Creek, commanded , much . interest, and made a favorable impression. Mr W. Dick's draught King's Champion, a three-year-old locally bred is a worthy son of King's Record, exhibiting in ■ constitution and in action qualities of much promise. Another youngster bred in tho district was Messrs Pike Brothers' Gallant PrinctJ.' a two-year-old by King's Highway. It. is especially well developed, but not prematively so, and has distinctly goid action. The trotting stallion was Mr E. Evans's Lord Ashley, a Rothschild horse of an attrictive appearance. ■ ' King's , Champion and Gallant Prince Word submitted a£ auction. The former was passed at 75 guineas and the latter at 40 guineas.
