Griffiths Bros , Ltd., report on their wi veldy sale held <.n Saturday as follows:—There was a large attendance, and an extensive catalogue was submitted and practically cleared at rates (with f«oitio exceptions) of previous sales. Pigs were in excellent request, and the penning being small good prices ruled. Poultry !-,old well, the demand being greater than for months past. Cjws were slightly dull of salo, the circumstances :n some cases being against vendors' reserves being reached. Vegetables of all kinds were' eagerly bought after. Apples wore in very short supply, i nd in consequence tJioso who arrived late wore disappo.into'J. A large catalogue of furniture sold readily. Wo quote prices as follows:—Cows nust hi £9, old rows due late £4, old empty cows £2 6s. - Pigs: Good weanors 225. Poultry: Mixed hens 4s 6d to 4s 3d, cockerels 4s 3d to 3s 9d per pair. Wheat brought from 20s to 18s; potatoes (Dalmeny Beauties) 20s, other sorts 18s, 17s, to 16s, seed (different varieties) 17s. to 14s; .barley 1 Is; pollard 16s; onionsi 14s-; parsnips 7s; swedes 65,: cauliflower r 17s; cabbage 14s— all,at per sack.'
