LONDON, Sept. 28. Sir Douglas Haig reports: We advanced at points between Martinpuich and frueudecourt. and established posts west and south-wesb of Eau-r-oxvt-l'Abbaye, .within eight hundrM yards r>f tho village. \ We^ consolidated our position on the ridgo north-east of Thiopval and suci^wFully shelled marching enemy battalions with transport. Tn the recent fighting our losses were small, both relatively and ab solutely. Our casualties wore rot m<M-e than twice the number of the enemy taken prisoners. One division wh-ch had a difficult task oaplured as many as its casualties.
