The monthly meeting of the Harbor Board was held last, evening the following members .'attending:— Messrs H. M. Reader (chainnaJi), W. H. Smith, W. H. Oraman, and.W;-H. Buckman. ' :' ; -
The secrobary reported that "h» hac? revived no reply from the lessee of tho Board's mudfiat property in regard to rent arrears. On the motion of Mr Smith it was.resolved that- Mr Wiclcs be informed that if arrears were not paid within one week from date a prosecution would follow, ; and hia Jeaso would be cancelled. ..
The Minister for Marine wrote.'"to' the effect that1 he was unable to grant ihe Board's request for. an extension of the wharf limits for half a mile on the south side- , On the secretary's suggestion it was decided to leave tho matter in abeyance, pending tho visit of the Minister for Marine to the district next month, when it was hoped -.that,.a. .personal-m^ spection might bo made by him'of the locality.
