The Times criticises tho Ministry for ordering General Townshend to advance on Bagdad Avith an inadequate force. The paper states that the English and Indian authorities know the force available, and no soldier should have concurred .'ii authorising such an advance. Furthermore, there was ;io reason for the unparalleled concealment of the despatches.
