The Guard of Honor, formed by the C. Company of the First Regiment, 4. lined the approaches to the House, and as the Governor passed into the House ~the Royal Salute was fired by ( tlie New Zealand Royal Artillery, i His Excellency immediately proceeded to the Legislative Council, accompanied by the Black Rod and a number of officials, where the Speech from the Throne was read and Parliament declared open. The Address-in-Reply will be moved in the House by Mr Lee, Member for Oamaru, seconded by Mi- Sykes, Member for Masterton.
