GRAIN AND PRODUCE \ \ MARKETS.
(Christkiurch Press, Wednesday.) The1, gram market during the past tew days, has been very quiet, there bemsc little offering. ThresMng ou*-. ol stock is now being proceeded with and farmers are too busy to come into town. A few sales of new grain Jiave taken place at quotations, but, as stated, the quantity offering is small, and, in some cases, growers are not content with the prices that merchants and millers are giving. A,few samples of Peninsula cocksfoot have been shown, but the market For thlis seed has not yet fairly opened.
There is a very limited demand for ryegrass, as it is stated that the North Island is well supplied for the present season's sowing. The under-mentioned are the prices paid to farmers at country stations, free of commission, except where otherwise stated:—
Hew Wheat.—3s 3d to 3s 4-J-d, at country stations.
New Barley—Prime malting 3s 9d to 4s, at country stations. New Oats.—Gartons Is lOd to 2s Duns Is 8d to Is lOd, and Algerians Is 9d to la lOd, at country stations. Ryegrasa—ls 6d to 2s, at country stations.
Cocksfoot—3£d to 4d, at country stations.
Flour.—£B 10s per ton, 1001b. bags £8 15s, 601b. bags £9, 251b. bao- s £9 os.
Bran.—£4 15s local, £4 10s f.0.b., per ton.
Pollard.—£6 per ton. Oatmeal—£l4 per ton. Oatsheaf Chaff (nominal)—£2 10s to £2 15s, at country stations, Onions—Autumn-sown £4 10s, at country stations. THE EGG MARKET. At the auction sale of guaranteed eggs yesterday, prices realised were: —First grade hen eggs. Is 2£d to Is 3£d, second grade Is 2d to is 3d; duck eggs, Is 2id to Is 4d.
