Lord Kitchener's weekly report states that 23 Boers were killed, 3 wounded and 201 taken prisoners, while 49 surrendered. It adds that 217 rifles and 15,500 rounds of ammunition were captured. Flooded rivers impede the operations in the northeast of the Orange Colony. The commandos in the Midland districts are being given no rest. The area to the west held by the Boers has • been much reduced. Beyers surrounded a post at Speloken. Colonel Colenbrander was relieved.
