TORTURE OF PEASANTS.

A sensation has been caused in Cairo owing to a rich land-owner torturing some peasants to compel them to confess to the theft of a bull from the Khedivial estate. The land-owner was imprisoned. In connection with the case a district governor was implicated, and has been suspended.
