First prize, £8; second, £3; third, £1. Points: Heading, 6: Bringing Back, 10 ; Yarding, 14 ; total, 30. CLASS. No. 2.—Man, with team-of three dogs, to drive Sheep through three gateways and back to starting point. Course to be marked by judge. First prize, £6; second, £3; third, £1. Six sheep to be used. CLASS, No. 3.—Huntaway, with slew, through three sets of flags; about 500 yds. Time, 12 minutes.—First prize, £6 and Silver Watch (presented by Mrs W. L. Clifford, value £5); second, £3; third, £1. Points: Huntaway, 10; Under Command, 14 ; Style, 6; total, 30. , SPECIAL PRIZE, £3 3s, given by Mr Middleton for dog scoring most points in all classes. Four other Special Prizes will be allocated in due course. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. The winner of Mrs W. L. Clifford's special must be owned by a person resident north of the Clarence River. 2. The Trial to start at 9 a.m. sharp. 3. Any competitor five minutes late after his name has been called may be disqualified, and his entrance fee forfeited. 4. Merino wethers will be used for all Classes. Three sheep allowed in each case. 5. Any dog committing a flagrant act, or tearing the sheep, the owner of such dog to be held responsible. 6. No dogs, except competing, will be allowed on the grouud. All dogs when not competing to be tied up. Any objectionable dog not allowed to take part at the meeting, nor allowed on the ground. 7. Any competitor disobeying the Judges or authorities may be disqualified, the decision of the Judges to be final. 8. Protests, accompanied with deposit of £1, must be lodged with the Secretary within half-an-hour of termination of each class ; deposit to be forfeited if protest proves frivolous. 9. No person allowed to interfere with any competitor when working his dog. 10 " Member " means anyone on the Club's books, with privilege to run one dog in one class free; other entries 2s 6d, each dog each class. Non-mem-bers, first entry 12s 6d, other entries 2s 6deach. 11. Entries will be received by Secretary until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April Bth, at the Royal Hotel, Blenheim. 12. Any telegrams or letters as entries bearing post-mark or proved to have been placed in [private mail-bag, or place where entry is made, will be accepted as entries received on April. Bth. 13. All persons a^e specially requested not to crack or use whip on the ground. Note.—Points in heats may be altered. Due notice of any alteration, will be given. All Matches to be shot tinder the New Zealand Gun Club Association Rules. No Competitor to be allowed to shoot unless his Nomination and Acceptance and Birds have been paid.. Two misses out.
