Further particulars with regard to the execution of two Australian officers in South Africa are:—
Major Leneham, in the capacity of commanding officer, was also tried for shooting Boers, and was sent to prison for three months. Lieut. Morant informed the Court that he alone was responsible for the shooting, whiohi was done in compliance with his orders* While awaiting trial the prisoners continued fighting with the Carbineers for two months. Lieut. Moranfc was the son of Admiral Bigby Morant, and a
contributor to the Bulletin under the norn de plume of " The Breaker."
