A PROMIBING VOOALIBT. I UNITED FBKBB AEBOOIATIOH.] Wellington, January 5. Mr Graham Moore, Examiner for the Royal College of Musio and Royal Academy of Music, has written to the Buperior of Bt. Mary's Convent, informing her that Miss Kate (Jonnell, who gained first place m the recent examinations with honors, has obtained the gold medal for the Colony. Mr Moore adds that he was very much pleased with her singing, and gives very high praise to the teaching, whiob, he says, must be of extraordinary capability, for without it, it would be impossible to properly develop even the moat perfect natural voice. He adda that he has advised Miss Connell'a relatives to allow her to remain at the Convent another year, and should her voica j still maintain its purity and freshness, he strongly advisee a course of study m England and the Continent under the beat masters that oan be obtained, regardless of expense. Mr Moore is of opinion that Miss Oonnell's voioe is auperior to Miss Amy Castles'. * Miss Connell, who is only 15 years of age, was born in'Hawera*
