Wilkie Bros., an action m which plaintiff, a brother of defendants, olaimed to be admitted as a pa tner m connection with the construction of railways m Western Australia. Judgment was given /or the defendants. Auckland, January 4. The New Zealand and liiver Plate Land Mortgage Company, Limited, is informed that at the annual meeting, held m London on the 2nd inst., it was decided to p y a dividend at the rate f six per cent for the year, the interim dividen i whic* has ben paid to be deducted therefrom ; that the reserve fund be increased to £125,000, £937 to be carried forward. Mrs Benny's house was burned down on Bt. Mary's Road, Ponsonby. It ■> as insured for £300 m the Commercial Union. 6ir George Clifford purchased a yearling filly by Soult— Lady Emmeline for 50 guineas. It will be duly shipped to Ohristohuroh.
