» gALE OF THOROUGHBREDS (MUTED PBESB ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, January 3. The annual sale of thoroughbred yearlings at Wellington Park was held to-day. About 80 were sold realising a total of 6657 guineas which is a record. The average is 229 guineas. The highest figures were brought iby a colt by Hotohkiss— Rose of Wellington, 1400 guineas; colt by Hotchkiss— Fjailty, 665 guineas ; colt by Hotchkiss— Lady Evelyn, 525 guineas; colt by Bt. Leger— Cißsy, 725 guineas; filly by Bt. Legor — Forme, 325 guineas. All were purchased by Mr Stead, of Ohristchurch. A filly by St. Leger — Necklace, 500 guineas, and a filly by St. Leger— Hilda, 410 guineas, was pui chased by Mr W. Mchollsjand a colt by Hotchkiss— Ouida, 250 guineas, by Mr J. B. Williamson.
