[UNITED PRE3B ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Jai vary 1. Jam 69 HendroD, a fireman, while boarding his engine at Maaterton, slipped and had a leg so badly ciUßhed by the wheel that it had to be amputated. He lately came from Addingtnn, and was married recently, Greymouth, December 31. It is reported that a man, a stranger m town, fell over the wharf last night. His name is not yet known. Auckland, Deoember 81. A man named McDermott, belonging to the crew of a scow, fell over Queen atreefc wharf, ifc ia supposed while m a fit, and was drowned.
