THE Marlborough Express.

SATURDAY, JULY 17, 1869.

« Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according- to conscience, above all other liberties.’ —Milton.

The Falcon arrived at the wharf about ten last evening, and the Amateur about ten thfs day. We learn that the Bishop of Nelson is expected here during the coming week, and that he will preach at the Church of the Nativity, on Sunday next, to-morrow week. Ox the meeting of the House on July G, Mr. Fox made a motion to the effect that the House express its sympathy and sincere condolence with Sir David Munro under his recent domestic affliction. In the absence of Mr. Stafford, Mr. Tpr-ill seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously, and Mr. Carletou was requested to send a copy of it to Sir David Munro.

We learn that letters have been received in Blenheim from Mrs Russell, who sailed for England with her family in the “Hera,” Captain Terkelson having made the voyage from Port Underwood in 95 days. Mrs. Russell speaks highly of the Captain’s kindness to her and her family; and the arrival in England in better health than they left shews they were amply provided for. The rejoice also to be able to state this young widowed lady and her family will bo amply provided for, as her friends at home are working in concert with those in the Colony for her future support.
