EMPTY POTS MAKE MOST NOISE.

To the Editor of the Marlborough Express. Sir, —Having by accident taken a copy of the Marlborough News of June 12th in my hand, I saw a letter signed “Observer” calling attention to the state of Education in this Province. With certain portions of the letter I agree, but I think the writer should have added, after “the bachelors should pay double,” —“and parents who have daughters over fifteen years of age, for whom they might have received an offer of marriage, whether eligible or not.” Should such become law it would give the bachelors a fair chance. I hold a contrary opinion in reference to Local Committee. The writer fails to notice the cause of six out of the_ seven Educational Districts cliangixTg'schbblffiasfers was owing to the alteration of salary, and not through the mismanagement of Local Committees, as he would insinuate. The writer next calls attention to one particular district—Spring Creek—which appears to be a very sore point. Is it because the school is not

conducted after las peculiar ideas ? The writer likewise fails to mention that the present schoolmaster was engaged before lie scut to Nelson for Ins family, wbicii, by bis so doing, would have allowed the public to put a very different construction on tlie transaction as stated in “ Observer’s ” letter.—l am, &0.. Observer, No. 2.
