General fiottccs. INLAND MAIL CONTRACTS. SEALED TENDERS will be received at the Chief Post Office, Blenheim, till the 17th day of April instant, for the Conveyance of Mails between the undermentioned places, from, the Ist of May to the 31st of December, 1869, both days inclusive : Blenheim and Hawkeswood—Once Weekly each Way. Each Tender must be accompanied by a security, in a form which may be obtained at the Chief Post Office, Blenheim, for a sum equal to 20 per cent, on the amount of the Tender, and to be inclsoed with the Tender, binding the Tenderer to take up the service Tendered for, and sign the necessary Contract Bond, in the event of his Tender being accepted. Bagge, Chief Postmaster, Chief Post Office, Blenheim, April 9th, 1869. 43 NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made to his Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand by John Booth, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, in the said Colony, Gentleman, for the grant to him, the said John Booth, of Letters Patent, under the seal of the said Colony, for the exclusive use, enjoyment, and advantage, within the said Colony, of a new invention or improvement for Preparing the Fibre of the Phokmium Tenax, and other plants indigenous to New Zealand, by a different and more effectual process than any of the processes at present in use, and so as greatly to economise labor, and increase the value of the Fibre : And notice is hereby further given that any person who may wish to prefer any objection to the granting of such Letters Patent is hereby required, within Four Calendar Months from the publication of this notice, to send to the office of John Boyle Bennett, Esquire, Registrar-General, at Wellington, in the Province of Wellington, in the said Colony of New Zealand, (being the person appointed for that purpose under the provisions of “ The Patents Act, I 860,”) a statement in writing setting forth the grounds of such objection, and subscribed with the proper name and address of the person so objecting.
