Express Office, Saturday, II a in The General Assembly will not meet in April as at present announced, but about the first week in June. The following is a free translation of a letter from Poihipi and others at Taupo. Similar information has been received by the Government, by way of the West Coast: —Taupo, Taupuae Haruru, 20th February, 1869. —To the Arawas and to all Government natives—Friends, salutaions: We have to inform you that a letter from Rewi has reached us, and is to the following effect: “ Waikato is about to join Te Kooti ” We hive stopped communication, and all Taupo are waiting here. The Hauhaus have agreed that March shall be the month in conjunction with the King to commence hostilities. Don’t act rashly and hasten to our assistance ; we can for a little hold our own—we will try and keep peace We are all assembled at Haruru ”
