(From our Own■ Correspondent.) Ship Wrecked in Cook Straits. 21 Lives lost—only 2 Saved! Wellington*, Wednesday, 10-30 a.m. The ship St. Vincent left Wellington on Saturday last, in ballast, to load wool in Canterbury. On Sunday noon, when off Capo Campbell, she was caught by the rough weather prevailing in the Straits, and drifted across towards Cape Palliser, ultimately striking on Point Burakarai (? Taourakira), about half-past 10, in the dark. The chief-officer and sail-maker were washed ashore alive. The Captain, crew, (19 in number), and 1 passenger, were all drowned Nothing new from Wanganui. The Storm Bird for Picton, and the Falcon for Blenheim, are detained through stress of weather. /The Lyttelton has just passed White’s Bay towards the Bar.
