This reverend gentleman will hold a confirmation while here, and we doubt not his arrival amongst us will be hailed with satisfaction. office in the Province not very long ago, in conjunction with that of Commissioner of the Marlborough Goldfields, has been appointed by His Excellency the Governor Registration Officer and Returning Officer for the District of Cheviot, as well as Collector of Customs at this port. It will be a source of gratification to everyone in this community to find that this district, so long neglected by the provincial authorities, has at last met at the hands of the Ministry with the attention its important capabilities and fast increasing resources really deserve.
