We were indebted to Mr. Joseph Redwood on Tuesday evening, for a copy of a telegram announcing the result of the Races on that day, which came off successfully in the presence of His Excellency the Governor and his suite, at Christchurch. The nearest approach to it being two years ago when Belle of the Isle accomplished the task in 5 min. 50 secs., and at Nelson some years ago, when Strop beat Potentate in sm. 535.
