{From our Own Correspondent.) Good News from Napier. ; Battle between tie Kanbans and Friendly Natives. The Rebels defeated.—Te Kooti and 30 others killedFighting still going on. Wellington Militia numbers 1,050 Men. Wellington, Friday, Nov, 27. 8 p.m. The Chatham Island Rebels, and their auxiliaries are surrounded by the Poverty Bay forces. Te Kooti himself was killed m the engagement on Monday last, besides 30 of his followers. . They are now encamped in a valley under cover, while our party are on the lull above them. Had the Wairoa Contingent been up, the Hauhaus would have been entirely crushed. . . The fighting is still going on. iotal loss on our side to date is 4 killed and 12 wounded. Neither party can bury their dead. The position is good for artillery. There is nothing fresh from Wanganui. The Wellington Cavalry Corps, and a Naval Brigade are progressing favorably. 475 men of the 2nd Class Militia were sworn in yesterday, making a total now of 1,050 men in the district.
