THE LATE “COUNTY” MEETING.

To the Editor fo the Marlborough Express. Sir,—Your correspondent, “A Picton Resident,” having been pleased to allude to me, I would beg to be allowed to assure him that I have plenty bettor employment than writing letters abusing my neighbours ; but I would very much like him to inform your readers, what the vile language was that he speaks of. I certainly cannot boast, (as your able correspondent can), of having knocked over so many goats, geese, &c., belonging to my peaceably disposed neighbours. I can assure him that if he had to earn his living by his own industry, he would be glad to rest at the appointed hours, instead of wandering about seeking whom, or what, he may devour. In conclusion, “A Picton Resident” can rest quite satisfied that I can well afford to receive all that he can say of me, as the man did the kick from his donkey.—Yours, &c., Charles Price, Carter. P.S.—lf the Joey Pharisee wants any more of it ho can have it gratis.—C. P. Picton, 25th June, 1868.
