ANNUAL LICENSING MEETING.

A MEETING of Justices was held at the Court House, Blenheim, on Tuesday last, for the purpose of hearing applications for Licenses in this district. The Bench was occupied by S. L. Muller, Esq., R.M., and J. B. Wemyss, Esq. George James , Royal Hotel,.applied for a 12 o’clock license, which was granted. Costs, 7s. Charles Furkiss, Rainbow Hotel, applied for a 12 o’clock license. Granted; costs, 7 a Leary and Barry, Royal Oak Hotel. Mr. Barry stated it was not their intention to apply for a renewal of their license, but Mr. Smith was going to make application, William Murray applied for a 10 o’clock license for the Commercial Hotel, Grove Road. Granted, with costs, 7s. Murdoch Gunft, Victoria Hotel, applied for a 12 o’clock license. Granted, with costs, 7s, John Shaw applied for a 12 o’clock license for the Marlborough Hotel. Granted, with costs, 7s. William Booker applied for a 10 o’clock license for the Royal Standard Hotel, Grove Road. Granted, with costs, 7s. Joseph Masters applied for a 10 o’clock license for the Alabama, Hotel, Maxwell Road. As it was shown by certificate that one of the proposed sureties was ill, and consequently unable to attend, the applicant was allowed to furnish a substitute. Granted; costs, 7s. - 3 -..... .
