St. Hilda, Captain Fox, left here on the ■ morning of the 7th instant, conveying the ' Marine Survey party to Cape Campbell, - J - for the purpose of surveying that part of the coast. The survey of Gore Bay and the harbour here is now completed ; and we b understand it is the intention of the GovernI I ment to make this a port of entry. | Court op Petty Session's. —On Tuesday, the 10th instant, before C. R. Heene and R. Beaumont Esqrs., J.P’s., John Gardener . was charged by Sergeant Goodall with using threatening and insulting language ■at Kaikoura on the loth ultimo. Defendp ant admitted the charge, and was fined £2 V - iand costs 18s.
