Sib Colin-Prince, foaled in December, 1879, was bred by Kobert Muiß, North Taieri. He is a beautiful dark bay, stands lGi hands high, with fine symmetry, splendid ; action, and fine mild temper. Sire, the Champion Siro of New Zealand, is a bright bny, lGi hands high. Sire, Prince Charlie; dam, Princess Maud the First (imp.) Prince has gained many first prizes, and his stock cannot be surpassed. The Kyneton j Agricultural Society awarded four of his yearlings fir^t prize for the best four yearlings, competing ngainst stock of two imported horses ; and in New Zealand, horßes sired by him have beaten all the imported horses at the Dunedin, Taieri, and Christchurch Shows. His tiock has brought higher prices than those of any other horse in New Zealand, and as an example it may be mentioned that during the past year Mrs NIMMO . has sold over £1500 worth of Prince's get. ITor purity of breeding he is not equalled in the Colony, for, as will be seen by the pedigrees and list of honors, both his sire and dam are descended from horses of the best strains of Clydesdale bbod, and both were famous piize-takers in Scotland and Victoria. At a recent National Show in Victoria, a yearling filly by I'riuce gained first prize. 1 . Prince also took first prize at the Waikouuiti i aud Shag Valley Shows of 1872 ana 15 73, and the first prize at the Blueskin A. aud P. ; Society's Show, 1873. At the Taieri Agricultural Society's Show, 1,882, a yearling filly by Prince was awarded first prize for the best mare or filly in the yard, competing against ageJ mares, and on the same day a brood mare, mother of two fillies by Prince, carried off the first prize for the best marc 1 and two of a progeny. Dam, Bell ; granddam, Nell ; g-granddam, Maggie Lauder ; g-g-granddam, Blanche ; g-g-g-grandduiu, Dr Wilmore's Flower. Bell's sire, Sir Oolin, one of the purest bred Clydesdales ever imported. Nell's sire, GlaßKow Geordie, by Champion, out of A. Warnock's Maggie. Champion, better known as Kilburnie Champion, bred by Mr Fleming, Auchenbowie. G-sire, Prince Charlie, dark bay, foaled , lSoo, of the pure Clydesdale breed, imported fiom .Scotland by J. aud Al. Mackintosh, i where he had been exhibited seven times , and gained seven First Prizes. He gained , the prize of £15 at the Highland ami Agricultural Society's Show at Glasgow, in 1857, ! against thirty others. He was bred by Mr Andeison, Drummoie. In Alctoria, Prince Charlie gained Fiiyt Prize at the Gisbornu Exhibition. 1858, the P. P. F. Society's First '. Piize of £20 and Champion Cup in ISo'J, 1860, and 18(>2.. Since that time he has uoi been shown. The progeny of l J ji nee Charlie have taken prizes in every part of tue coiony. Prince Charlie, out of Tibby, the property or Mr Anderson, Drummore. Tibby won over twenty prizes in her time, and was never beaten but once, and then only by her own ' dam. Dam of Prince, Princess Maud First. i Bay, foaled August, 1853 (imported trom , Scotland by J. and M. Mackintosh), in Scotland Princess Maud gained IS prizes, including a Silver Medal in Glasgow, when a three-year-old, against all ages. The same year she gained the Prize of the Highland Agricultural Society held at Inverness ; she als.o gained First Prize at Dumbarton . two years in succession. In Victoria she gained First Prize at Gisborne, ISSB ; Port , Phillip Farmers' Society's First Prize. 1859, 1800, ISGI and 18(52 ; also Gippsland Agri- , cultural Society's First Prize in 1563 and 18U4.
