Sir, — In reply to your correspondent " Inquisitive " I solve his conundrum as follows : The 6or« bakers find that the elements of domestic economy" are not taught in Gore, and few wives or daughters — let alone aunts or sisters, — do without the baker 3 loaf ; and therefore they join the other knowing ones who fleece those unpractised in '• small economies." The bakers are no more exacting than other tradesmen, only the others are not so much in the glare. " Inquisitive " is not half so inquisitive, or he could see that.
