SHOW NIGHT CONCERTS.

TO THE EDITOB. SIB, — As there seems to be some feeling in connection with the entertainment ou Show night, the 2nd December, 1 as>k permission to make a few remarks. The concert of the Ohoral Society was the first entertainment announced by advertisement in your columns. Is'ow 1 ask is it reasonable to suppose that the Wyndham Dramatic Club (some of whose members reside iv Gore) were not aware of this i'act and did they not engage the Town Hall after the announcement of the Choral Society's concert? If the engagement was eitered into pievious to this it would have been merely a matter of business to let it be kaown in the ordinary course by advertisement. Again, is it reasonable to suppose that a local organisation should now give way to a club coming from Wyndham or any place else? Now as to the means reported as being adopted by the Wyndham Dramatic Club to secure a house, in the first place a report has been circulated that the Choral (Society has thrown up the sponge. , To this 1 offer a positive denial. As the Society hare already sacured the patronage oi' a large number of the citizens and have uecu promised the aid of many others it would bo a breach of faith to them and to honorary members it we were to postpone the concert. Iv the next place two tickets for the price of one have been offered to possible purchasers of tiekots for tho " Uride ot Abydos " — evidently showing that the management are becoming nervous. — 4 am, etc, GIiOUGK liftlirr, Conductor Gore Choral Society.
