BURNSIDE MARKETS. * Mr Donald Stionach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency .Co., Limited) reports for the week ended Nov. 5, as follows : — Fat Cattle.-?? 170 were penned for the week's supply." This wa3 not an an excessive number, -:but the trade being well supplied from - last week's purchases, bidding was very dull. Bullocks brought L 7 15s to Lll 2s 6d; cows, L 7 to LB. Prime beef, 22s per lOOlbs. v. Fat Sheep—pOeS were. forward. Of these r1660 were merinos ; the balance crcssbredp. J-Vefy few were prime, the larger number being mixed and inferior. This was one of lhe dullest sales that had been experienced for a long time, and only that a large number were taken up by graziers, and some turned out, prices would have suffered a heavy decline.; As,it was, prices for prime quality ' were lower by Is to Is 6d ; others from 2s rt p;2s-6d per-head, Best :crossbreds (in the Wool) brought 17s to LI Is; others, 11s do, 10s 9d to 13s 9d ; 14s 6d.
