Tuesday, Nor. 4. There were present— The Keys. Berry (chairman), Rishworth, Smalley, Thomas, Marten, Smithy Griflin,. Murray and Buttle.One candidate for the ministry was presented by the Chairman from the Trinity circuit. The candidate (Mr Fellows) took his literary examination.. The oral examination before the. District Meeting was fixed for Thursday morning. The remainder of the session was occupied with the consideration of new stations proposed to be occupied. , Tapanui was brought under review, but no definite resolutions were arrived at. . .■ : ■ Wednesday, Nov, 5, The financial session commenced on Wednesday. There were present,/ besides ,the ministers, the following lay' members':— Messrs C. Duke an.d J^ Wright (Dunedin") Mr King (Milton),. Mr Wolsey (Port Chall mera), Mr Jieirbn (Lawrence). ' Under tho head of "New erections, etc.," there were reported : : "Gore, new church, cost L 240 j debt Ll2O ; Mandevillo, two sections costL3s- -; improvements and enlargements had been, made at Ttftttty Oharoh, Cargill Koad,Mbrningtan,, Port Chalmers, Balelutha, Lawrence. Invercargill, and Oamaru, at a cost of L 416 Bs. Permission was given to sell the Waii kouaiti church, as welt as the church at Tapanui, The purchase of a "parsonage at Milton was authorised. The reperfc on church property, prepared by Mr, Rigg,of Invercargill ! (read by secretary), stated the -total' cost of j Wesleyan properties in the.- district . to have been L 17.437 ; present debt, £7200. The various connexional funds came under review, and. the following sums were reported as contributed hj " the ' distric^-ji— Foreign missions, LSX 12s ; .home missfong L 1&0 15s ; children's fund, Llßl 7s ; supernumary fund, Llil 13s ; . contingent fund, LIOO 15s 7d. Grants from the 'Home Mission Fund to the amount of L 237 were recommended to Conference^ A very interesting report of \bK> MiUon * home mission station \yn& wad by Mr Ston^ and adopted by the meeting.
