There wa3 a magnificent attendance of spectators and a good display, both .in. quality and quantity, of exhibits. Mr Green as usual officiated as showman, and did so effectively. Pride of Palmeiston will travel in Groro, Tapanui, and intervening districts. He is a dark bay, and shows great muscular development. Sir Garnet is to travel this season in the Waikaia and subjacent districts. He is so well known that no description is needed. Wariderin' Willie is another of Mr Muir's North Taieri breeding. He is announced to stand at Chatton. He is of a bright baycolor, and is of a good farmer's stamp. Jack's the Lad also was trotted out. Young Prince Charlie is a bay horse, four years old, and traces among his forbears '■ such animals as Betty, Prince, and others. THOBOTJGHBEEDS. 1 In this class the following were exj hibited: — J Talisman. — He is a dark brown horse by \ Traducer, and comes from a long line of , winners. He is to travel in the Gore, Elbow, Switzers, ami surrounding districts. 1 Topthorne.— This bright and favorite cbest- ■ nut, was Icoking very gay. He is by Leotard, I and also comes from a distinguished family. His perambulation will be in the Gore awl , northward districts. Flageolet was also shown, Hs looked the very pink of condition ; in fact, anyone who had last seen ■ him a couple of months ago would not have known him. Mulatto was also trotted out. At the conclusion of the show Mr Green submitted Wanderm' "Willie — passed in at L6O; Young Prince Charlie, . sold at L 35, and his trappings at L7; Flageolet, passed at L 2 6; and Mulatto, passed in at LlO. Mr Simson then held a sale of horses. He submitted Premier, , Jack's the Lad, and Topthorne. The first and last sold at Ll9O and L7O respectively, "Premier," amid much badinage and a vehement assurance from the auctioneer that the sale was a genuine one. There was a most successful sale of contractor's plant after the show.
