Sheep Dip. THE WONDER OF THE WORLD 1 HERMAN'S f WORLD-KENOWNED SHEEP WASH AND CELEBEATED VERMIN DESTROYER. mHIS preparation is known thiotighout the civilized world to be far superior to anyJL thing yat discovered for eradicating tick, scab or lice on sheep, goats, or cattle, I It is sufficient to say that Onb Shilling Packet of the powder dissolved in two buckets of waterwillwash EIGHtSeN SHEEP. Tais admits the most economical, as well as the simplest plan |in the world for the cure and prevention of diseases incident to farm . stock. By its use the farmer can secure the health of his stock at the rate of |d per head per annum. In all the large Sheep Districts in Australia, South America and Africa, no other preparaAon is used. The vermin destroyer is also invaluable for the purpose of the Horticulturist; and it is most extensively used by the Flower and Kitche _ Europe, America, and the British possessions in all parts of the Globe. One packet dissolved in two buckets of water will serve for over half-an acre of ground and will 3 effectually prevent blight and exclude all other garden pests. As a vermin killer it is an unrivalled specific. Its use will speedily exterminate all household pests, such as bugs, cockroaches, fleas on animals, moths i" furs, and insects on birds of all kinds, from the canary to the poultry. For this purpose simple and plain directions are given on every packet. The powder can also be used in a dry state for the destruction of rats and mice. A little sprinkled oir h slice of bread and butter, or a - piece of meat or cheese is sought after greedily by tnose vermin, while the household pets such as dogs andcats will not touch it in any form and are therefore perfectly safe. The above marvellous discovery has gained for Herman Bros, and Co., London, the silver s medal at the Intercolonial Exhibition, Melbourne, 1886, besides numerous testimonials from 3 government officials and all the elite of the medical faculty in Europe. > Herman Bros. and Co. beg to announce that they have appointed D. B. Esther, Che m ? and Druggist, Gore, their sole agent for Gore and vicinity, and from him the preparation ■ can be obtained in parcels. Price One Shilling ; or, six packets for Five Shillings • Liberal reduction allowed to the h rade. Manufactory— Beaumont Squa Mile, End Road, London. d2^ I DIPPING SEASON, 1884. ; THE SPECIAL IMPROVED :GLYCERINE DIP, EQB, SH J ] AED L AMBS. tm- SOL BLE IN~COL^D WATER!!! ia t nnHIS DIP IS UNRIVALLED for the complete destruction of Ticks, Lice, and Parasites, JL with their eggs, of every description infecting the skin of Sheep, Cattle, and other animals. Ib has gained the highest reputation, for it possesses the double advantage of simultaneously repelling contagion and cleansing the skin from filth. it does naroT discolor the Or act injuriously upon the natural Yolk of same, but feeds the fleece, maintains the natural lustre, and wonderfully promotes its growth. The great risk incurred by introducing newly purchased stock amongst healthy animals already on the runs may be avoided by using this Dip. This Dip is composed of ingredients (glycerine being one) which all tend to benefit the animal and the wool, and these ingredients are mixed by new powerful steam machinery, so that a thorough consistency is always obtained. One dipping with this Dip (in mid fleece) will save the great inconvenience of dipping twice, as is the case with other Dips. Sold in drums, 2gal, sgal, and lOgal, single drums, 6s gal. A considerable reduction made in larger quantities for medium and large flocks, Price lists pn application to agents. E Among the very numerous testimonials received in New Zealand after last year's dipping we select the following:— From Messrs Boyes Bros Kawarau Falls, Frankton, N.Z., 15th June, ISB3. Messrs Tomlinson & Hayward. Dear Sirs, — We have this season dipped over 7000 young sheep, both Merino arid Longwool, with your Glycerine Dip, and are very well satisfied with the result, as the dipping has killed not only th& ticks and lice, but their eggs as well. We consider it far superior to any of the Colonial manufactured, or any other Dip that we have tried ; one great advantage that it has over other Dips is that it seems to dissolve instantaneously. The contents of alO 1 gallon drum can be dissolved in warm water in two minutes, avoiding all the delay that is met with in mixing other Dips. We shall use your Dip in future every year for all our Sheep, and we can strongly recommend it to any one for its simplicity, rapid action, and periect freedom from any noxious ingredient. We are, dear Sirs, Yours faithfully, (Signed) BOYES BEOS. N.B.— The Colonial Dip referred to in the abpve letter way that manufactured at Lnvercargill. From J. B. Sutton, Esq. Garryowen, Southland. I prefer the New Glycerine Dip to any of the several Dips I have used. My experience , being that sheep dipped in this Glycerine Compound are in a much safer and healthier state than generally results after the use of arsenical preparations. I can further testify to the general usefulness of this' Glycerine Compound for application to the skin of every animal on the farm requiring cleansing. I consider this new Dip an undoubtedly good one either fpr large farmers or general use on farms. (N.B.— Mr Sutton 's flock is the celebrated Southland Lincoln Stud Flqpk.) AT THE LATE public trials of nine different Sheep Dips at Hawkes Bay, the Judges report as follows :— At the second examination on the 18th October, we found the sheep dipped with Tomlinson and Hayward 's (Glycerine) free from parasites; the wool in good order, etc., etc.— Vide l Hawkes Bay Herald,' January sth, 188' i.
