"Wheat -<The demand is limited to local requirements, so that it is difficult to place any large lines; Priijne' milling. is saleable in small pircels at|. 3i"lod ; inferior to medium "■ 3b 3d to 3s 6d ";' fowl feed, 2s to 2s 9d, and tke supply is quite equal ;to the demand. I have to report several sales at quotations. 'Oats — The demand for shipping lots continues active, and the prices are firm at last tyeeks's quotations — viz., 2s 2d to 2s 3d for milling, and 2s o|d to 2s l%d for bright short feed, Is] 9d to Is lid for light and inferior quality. I have placed all lots to hand. larley — There is a good demand for prime lots of malting quality, which command from 4s 2U to 4s 3d, bu l there are very few choice lots arriving. Milling and feed are not inquired for. Potatoes.— The market has been perfectly inundated this week,and as there is no outside demand, the bulk of arrivals has had to be stored, The price cannot be quoted at over L2.15s per. ton, bags weighed in. I would advise growers to hold back for a little, to allow of stocks being reduced and until there is a demand for shipping, which there are signs, of springing ; up. Butter — The demaud has rather slackened. Price nominally 9£d per lb for prime salted in kegs, at which price I nave made some small .... Cheese'-r- There is a fair demand at 4jd to 4Mperlb. Hams and Bacon— 9d to 9jd per lb for ainoked, and 7d to 7£d for green. Chaff.— There has been a full supply this week, but so f arjthere is no change in price. Good quality well cut still fetches L3 10s at railway' stations, bags returnable, at which priqe I have '.cleared several consignments. Grass Seed — The market i3 inactive,except for cocksfoot, "which I quote at 4£d to 4|d per lb, bags extra. , . Kabbitskins — The demand continues active. My sales have been some mixed lots at 11 id to Is per lb. Hidea— 4d to 4Jd per lb for heavyweights, and 3d to 3£d for light and inferior. Tallow, 31s to 318 6d j lough fat, 22a 6d to / £in 'ner cwt.
