The hcnte^cwptain^winiiing^ the -toss elected to bat, accordingly the visitors took the field, Purvis and A. M. Dawson being entrusted with the bowling. These two trundled well, disposing of their opponents for 64 runs, Raymond (44) being the only double-figure contributor. His innings was not marred with the least possible chance. After lunch, the t^toQ&in'ds; 7 >t -Q? ifo& charge: of the. wickets, and succeeded in totting up 40 runs, Thomson (20) and Wade (11) getting into double figures. With 24 runs to the good the Wyndhamites started tierD seqond innings* and the two, first men — Kingswell and Stock— seemed as if they meant business. , However, the latter had to succumb to one of Dawson' $>, and Raymond, after knocking up seven, had the misfortune to be stumped by a ball striking the wicketkeeper's chest, and. dropping on the bails. The only other who made a stand was Currie (13). The innings closed for 55, thus leaving the visitors 81 runs to get to win.>. Woodlands started, ?tn,d mainly through' Thomson's agency ten after ten appeared, until there were only 23 runs ■ to make to tie, and four wickets to fall. Thomson; however, f was beautif^llv, caught; in the long; field by Kings,- , w^ll^'and. the remaining wickets fell for {Wo' runs.
