Brisbane, Feb. 25. In th.c Legislative Assembly last night a resolution was fpassed requiring that the 'Courier' newspaper, published here, be prosecuted for libelling members of the House, in an article commenting on the proceedings of the Election Qualifications Committee. Adelaide, Feb. 25. In the House of Assembly last night, a debate commenced on a motion for an address to the Federal Council. In the course of the discussion the Opposition members left the House in a body, and there being consequently no quorum the mitter was shelved. The prorogation of Parliament is fixed for to-day, and the fate of the motion is therefore uncertain, (Receive^ February 28th, 2.30 p.m.) ' m ' JvONDON, February 27. Two battalions of infantry that received orders on the Bth inst. to proceed from Aldershot to Malta and Gibraltar, have embarked at Portsmouth far their respective destinations. The battalion proceeding to Gibraltar will replace the 2nd Battalion of the Essex Regiment (sQth Foot), which recently left that station for Alexandria. Hong Kong, February 24. Latest intelligence to hand from Tonquin announces that the French Commander has massed the troops which recently arrived, and that an immediate advance will be made upon BuTmah with the whole force.
