A fair start was effected. . Clinkerina was in the rear, but at the back of the course she assumed second place, passing Atlas easily and getting close up to Pathfinder. The two horses ran well together, bnt it was evidently the mare's race. With but little exertion she took the lead about quarter of a mile from home, and won in a canter. Time— i. mm. 15^ sec. ' .
