HacOarthy, Kangiora, July 7, pBIV Herbal Extract, I find it to be a skilfully prepared vegetable preparation, possessing the properties of the plants from which it is derived in a highly concentrated state, a fact which I have verified by evaporating a fluid drachm placed in a watcbglaeß over a spirit lamp. On weighing the result, a dark green extract, I found the weight to be 14£ grs. On further submitting the extract to analysis I found it to be rich in tannin. In a large number of coses of ordinary diarrhoea, as well as in many chronio cases and in ysenrery, I. have proved it to. possess jtreat specific control, added to the unusual feature in a nrijoaty of diarrhoea medicines, that it does not Bubsequently constipate the bowels. I feel satisfied that from the number of trials I havn beon enabled to make of it in a somewhat extensive practice, it is a most valuable addition lo modern therapeutics.
