CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sin, — In answer to a letter in the Express signed “ Starborough,” perhaps you would kindly insert the following remarks : —That I have been and am now a yearly tenant, and hold no authortv to act for Dr Richardson, the owner. That the Awatere Road Board made a proposal to .Ur Richardson, which I forwarded and strongly recommended him to accept. That Mr G. Richardson, his son, on behalf and at the request of his father, visited the district for the purpose, as he himself informed me, of inquiring into the question of this road with the Awatere Board. I may also add, in conclusion, that several miles of the road now used is trespass on Dr Richardson’s property, and that I have not interfered to prevent it, which, as a tenant, I should lose an undoubted right to do, and that I have thereby water frontage and many acres of grazing. I have no power to interfere in the alienation or disposal of this property. I have given my advice in favor of the Board’s proposal, which I considered reasonable.—l am, yours faithfully, A. J\ Skvmoi'k.
