Notices. To the Electors of the Wairau. ENTLEMEN, —At the forthcoming General Election of Members for the House of Representatives, I propose to otter myself as a Candidate for the Wairau Seat. I shall ask you to be good enough to meet me at various places in the Electorate to discuss matters of public interest to the Colony and yourselves. Omaka Road Board District. ¥OTICE is hereby given that in accordance with the 40th clause of “ The Rating Act, 1876,” the Gniaka District Road Hoard intends on Moxdav, the 24th day of October, to MAKE a RATE of ONE SHILLING in the Pound upon the value of the Rateable Properties as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the year 1879. The rate shall be for the year beginning Ist April, 1881, and ending on the 31st March, 1882, and shall be payable in one instalment on the Sixth day of November 1881. In accordance with the “ Hawkes Bay and Marlborough Rivers Acts,” and the “ Rating Act, 1876 ” NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Board of Conservators for the District of SpringCreek to MAKE a RATE of EIGHTPENCE in the Pound on all Properties in Class I. and FOURPENCE in the Pound on all Properties in Class 11., for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, ISBI, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1882, payable in one sum to the Secretary at his office, Marlboroughtown, on the 3rd day of November, 1881, where the Rate Book may be inspected during the usual office hours, until the said 3rd day of November.
