Messrs finery and Campbell report that a (prantity of fresh butter had come in, but had been kept tou long before being sent to market ; had it been in good order they expect fair prices would have been obtained as it was much enquired for. Eggs, at the market sale, brought 1/7 per dozen, and competition was keen ; fowls, 2/0 to M/ ; hams and bacon together are worth Sd, if guaranteed ; cheese, 4d. with little or no demand. : potatoes continue to drag, and onions, although really good sound ones are scarce, do not seem to be much enquired for. Other produce remains about the same Imt the late bad weather has put a check to business.
