Messrs John Shaw and Sons, of 37, Mark Lane, London, E.C., report through their Agent, Mr Leonard W. Blake, of Christchurch, that the Seed trade for the fortnight ending June 3rd was, as usual at this time of the time of the year, extremely quiet, there having been only a few retail sales caused by some welcome maize. The season closed with stocks all round unusually light. For sowing mustard and rape seed there was more demand, the latter at an advance of 2s per quarter. Canary seed was meeting with increased attention. Rye grass was very scarce, the consumption having been very great during the past season,
